Check your state's website to see if they have a caregiver program. That is where you provide the caregiving for a relative and you get paid as the caregiver. The reason why this program was put in place was to give seniors the option of staying in their homes as opposed to being placed in a nursing home. Now grant programs do exist that help with the downpayment of a home. There are also some programs that will help provide you with a house but you have to bring something to the table - like sweat equity. I'm wondering and its really none of my business but what about the house you are living in now - is it your mother's? Like the previous person that replied said there are a lot of financial programs available to seniors! I was able to get my mother a whole new heating system without her having to pay a dime!
